Interim Commercial Leadership

Short- to medium-term interim support for organisations in food, farming and FMCG facing customer change, restructuring, succession or strategic reset. 

When interim support makes sense

Interim commercial leadership is most valuable when:


  • A senior commercial or agricultural leader has left or is about to leave.
  • Major customer or channel changes are putting pressure on profit and relationships.
  • The organisation is restructuring, entering new markets or integrating an acquisition.
  • The board needs independent, experienced support while a permanent leader is recruited.

What Savage Performance Advisory provides

As an interim commercial leader, I work with the board, CEO and executive team to:


  • Reset customer and channel strategy with key retail and wholesale partners. 
  • Stabilise performance and rebuild commercial discipline and accountability.
  • Align commercial, agriculture, supply chain and sustainability so they support a clear plan.
  • Support succession, helping to shape and onboard the permanent hire.

How engagements are structured

Interim assignments are typically:


  • 3–12 months in duration 
  • 2–4 days per week, adjusted to need and phase
  • Focused on clear objectives, regular reporting and a defined handover


Each engagement starts with a short diagnostic and agreement of priorities, outcomes and ways of working.
